I'm definitely one for weird facts and plausible conspiracy theories but the moon landings for sure happened, there is laser measurement equipment on the moon that is used for present day experiments that must have been placed and aligned by someone.
https://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/LM04_Lunar_Module_ppLV1-17.pdf From the published document on page 7 and 8 you can clearly see there are several layers separated with space in between, what you see is merely the the inconel mesh/nickel foil finish which is fastened at seams, behind this is a mylar and H-film blanket and at least 2 inches behind the outer skin is the structural skin.
Also lets do a calculation, Lunar lander module is 92inches in diameter that is 2.34m diameter rounded up Lets also assume its a cylinder, (length does not matter) also conservative as it can be weaker than a corresponding sphere.
Lunar lander is pressurised to 4.8psi, ~0.033095 MPa (rounded up) Moon atmosphere is 4.35e-13 Psi, negligible lets assume 0
Conservatively let use Tresca method (also I cbf doing the longer von mises right now) and a poor quality aluminium with yield strength of 240MPa gives us a minimum wall thickness of 0.161mm with a safety factor of 1 (it would work but no margin for error)
To verify we calculate back hoop stress and longitudinal stress and max shear stress leaves us with ~240MPa, 120MPa and 120MPa respectively. Now Nasa used 0.305mm thick aluminium and surely would have used at least aerospace grade (yield strength 310MPa) this would give us a hoop stress of 127MPa, That leaves us with a safety factor of 2.44.
So yes a spacecraft skin 3x thicker than a soda can can retain a 4.8Psi atmosphere in a near vacuum with ample safety factor.
For reference: After simplification and mohrs circle calcs the Tresca Safety Factor = 2 x t x Sigmayield/(Pguage*d) Or as its linear simply divide the yield strength by the hoop stress, t is thickness, d is craft diameter
tmin = Pguage x diameter/(2 x Sigmayield)
And sigmahoop=Pguage x d/(2 x t)
EDIT you said you were a pilot, lets take airline pressures for comparison, Assume 15degrees celsius at all altitude, 747 cruise altitude is 39000 feet? pressure at that altitude is 2.85Psi, cabin has a max altitude pressurization of 8000ft?, pressure is then 10.97Psi, thats a guage pressure of 8.12psi, significantly more than the Lunar lander needs to deal with. I mean no disrespect to your profession but designing and flying are 2 different skill sets.
I'm not a pilot and I took the altitudes of google, might not be correct.
Lets put those values into the same formulas using a cabin width of 7m, we get a minimum skin thickness of 0.6mm, considerably more than the lunar lander. Many people simply make the false assumption that simply because a craft is in space is is subject to far greater forces and stresses, this is not always the case. Boeing specifies a minimum skin thickness of 0.99mm that makes sense and leaves a safety factor of 1.57. The difference between the internal and external pressure area greater for an aircraft at altitude than the lunar lander in a near vacuum
EDIT 2: Engineering isn't always intuitive if I had not previously looked at this problem and I was asked to give an answer in 5 seconds whether the lunar lander needed thicker skin than an aircraft my kneejerk reaction would be the same as yours and I would say it does need thicker skin.

We havent even discussed the fact that billuins of years of accumulated surface dust in the moon would have an immense electrical charge. The bolt of lightning that would occur with any craft getting within 100 ft of the surface would be at the very least knock out all the onboard electronics
I did not say anthng about the thickness of the skin. Just look at the river line. There is no way that thing holds pressure. Also, every unmanned craft that has ventured beyond 350 miles in altitude has sustained micrometer damage. A fleck of sand going 30,000 mph would have ruptured that thing. In short, no man has been further than 350 miles above earth's surface.
