I hate to tell you but we might see it at the dawn of the next century if we’re still around if at all. True digital sentience along with the mechanical sophistication for a life like human Android is still probabally at least a century away. I’m sure we’ll see interactive computer programs based on remote servers that can converse with us almost as naturally as humans, analyze our emotional responses and then adjust its responses accordingly. However that’s probabally at least 2-5 decades away and will require a tremendous amount of deep machine learning as well as significant funding from some very deep pockets, which begs the question, what’s the market for such capabilities? Phone support maybe. But again this will just be programmed personalities created with tens of billions of not hundreds of billions of R&D and not genuine artifical intelligence.

Shrinking the animatronic capabilities of a lifelike robot that is also sensual will take longer I’m afraid. Frankly we’d probabally have to basically recreate the way the human body works with bones and muscles and tendons and fibers and the like. Imagine a car but with a million more moving parts. How would you ever keep that operational? Well you’d have to use self repairing nanites is think. The control unit for that might actually be more advanced then the programming for the interactivity and personalities.

I think there will be some interesting tech along the way like interactive VR female personalities that look lifelike and tie into a masturbator. And maybe by 2050 we’d have a companion personality mock AI we could converse with in the home that actually functions and is useful and enjoyable to interact with. I guess you could have some sort of digital AI and a sex bot with some interactivity but the AI and control unit would be running outside of the doll.

Another thing... not to toot my own horn but when I was getting my computer science degree back in 2000-2003 I had a series of arguments with my senior project advisor about the future of AI and computing and self driving cars and the like. He brought the grant money in for force feedback surgical simulators and I was working with a lumbar puncture simulstor algorithm for simulating bone and skin and the like to measure the technique of the surgeon. I saw a natural progression of the concurrent processing of multiple input used in decision making of how the force feedback device would function as a natural foundation for what would be needed for self driving cars. I told him I thought we’d see them in 20 years and true AI in 50. He was so passionately adminate that it would be much longer before such things were possible. Kinda chuckling now because it’s looking like I was closer to reality than he was. True AI scares the shit out of me. We’re entirely capable of annihilating our species with it if we aren’t careful.
