I first discovered this sub around 6 months ago. I am not an active reddit poster (I only just made this account for this purpose) but I found the ideas here pretty interesting and similar to how I had been living.
I've been single by choice most of my adult life. I think that I had a pretty normal upbringing in regards to women. I kissed a few girls in high school, but never had a girlfriend or had sex with any of them (this do to typical teenage incompetance rather than a lack of desire). In college, as I think is pretty standard of most Americans, I would drink and go out on most weekends. I rarely would go out with the sole intention of finding girls, but I also definitely did not ignore girls and probably ended up hooking with a girl about once a month. This seemed to be pretty standard at my college among my friend group.
Throughout college and now in my life after college I never had a desire to get a girlfriend. It just never seemed worth it. I do, however still find girls attractive and sex to be fun, so once every other month or so I'll meet a girl from tinder (or something similar). I usually do this when I'm traveling; I travel for work but I also really enjoy it so I try to take a bunch of vacations every year, sometimes with friends and sometimes alone.
My question is this: would you guys consider this going my own way? In my opinion this balance allows me to still have my freedom without depriving myself unncessesarily. I've read a lot of posts recently here about guys turning down sexual opportunites b/c they're afraid that they'll get trapped in some way. To me that seems like needless isolation.
This is totally unrelated, and as someone who hasn't posted here before I don't want to just come into a community that I haven't participated in and criticize, but I've been very busy recently and only just started reading this sub again after ~5 months. A lot of the posts here seem less inspiring or useful than I remember them being, unfortunately. Maybe this is just a passing fad with lots of people here obsessed with makeup for some reason? I don't understand why people enjoy taking the makeup off of women. We all already knew that they wear makeup. We all know what women look like without makeup. A woman who choose to wear makeup (and does a good job with it) is more attractive to look at. Seems like a win/win to me, but that's just my $.02
