The reason is that cross linking from one subreddit to another can encourage brigading or vote manipulation and make reddit admins angry.

If you're going to link to other subreddits, please go to http://archive.is or http://web.archive.org, or another a caching site, and submit the reddit link you're trying to post. It will create a cached version and give you a url to use instead. The benefit of using this method is that if the linked post is removed or edited, the cached copy will preserve the information you were orignally trying to share.

Another option is to subit the link as a non-participation reddit link, by posting it as http://np.reddit.com/ rather than www.reddit.com, as an option by switching the www. portion of your link to np.
