I'm not a boomer, but I'm pretty sure they didn't make anyone smoke crack, or made anyone engage in risky sex, that's entirely on the drug user and people fucking their asses bloody that had those issues, many times one in the same people.

And you are absolutely correct. Let's look at some history: my grandparents were working (somehow) and raising a family during the Great Depression. My parents grew up during the depression. All parents at that time said 'Wow, that was tough. Let's make sure our kids never have to go through that'. So they gave their kids everything, and created a whole generation of self-absorbed, whiny, self-important, socialist assholes. While young, my generation was picketing universities and corporations and government buildings. Now, God help us, they are running the universities, corporations, and governments. It will take the next 3 or 4 generations to clean up our mess.

The Baby Boomers have destroyed the West, its cultural institutions and our family life. I'm a Latin Mass kind of Catholic, and it's downright evil what that generation did to Catholic culture.

My parents and their siblings are all boomers. Nearly all of their grown children have gotten the fuck outta town on these clowns, and they all wonder why. They are very typical boomers. Incredibly arrogant, not much talent in anything other than drinking, fucking off, trying to tease you, or give you shit about something, as if you are still 12 years old. It's like, 'bro keep your fat insecure ego to yourself before I slap that wrinkled smirk off your face, you nerd'.

I told my party-aholic parents to stop calling me every fucking weekend letting me know what they are up to and if I want to join them, blah blah. It's like, fuck, does your hubris and gluttony have no limit? Take a fucking breather from the bread and circus show. I actually told them I'm like a monk now and that I wasn't kidding, and to stop bothering me with trivial activities that waste time and money. Obviously the boomers weren't the most productive generation, all they did when they were young was smoke weed and have risky, unprotected sex.

Few of them were qualified for actual work, so companies created an administrative bloat so boomers with some kind of a college education could get a management job only after a few years of working. This contributes to the modern management bloat in companies.

And I don't think they contributed anything to modern technology of actual significance, unlike Gen X and the Millennials. Except for whatever Steve Wozniak invented.

Then, they ditched the free life, love, peace, and happiness hippie mantra once they were out of their 20's. Then, they tended to split into two camps, one advocates for the worst conservative policies, the other the worst liberal policies.

You can blame them for a lot, but a lot of them are down to earth people. They're no WW2 generation, but what's done is done.

The greatest generation, before the boomers, created unrealistic expectations of standards of living by raping the environment (Lake Erie used to regularly catch on fire and LA looked like Peking) and plundering other countries. They also did t bother educating minorities.

The boomers inherited an expensive mess and they cleaned it all up. It was expensive to do, and more so in that they couldn't keep just shoving their pollution onto society. Dumping your industrial waste in the ocean is cheap, treating it is not. They both treated their waste and cleaned up the waste that had been dumped by the prior generation, all the while maintaining an unrealistic standard of living and sharing that standard with more minorities.

It took some slight of hand. Some costs were pushed out via unfunded pensions and deficit spending. Declines in living standards were forestalled via offshoring jobs, making product immediately cheap but the loss of jobs would bite us later.

They were also nice to everyone. They funded a corrupt UN. They allowed lots of immigrants in. They refused to say no.

Now we have a president telling everyone no. It's not the boomers objecting to him. That tells me they would have done exactly the same thing. Exactly.
