But I don't want to take my chances anyway. Let's just say that I couldn't ask her to pay me upfront. It's not customary to do so in this industry. That would require a lot of trust on the part of the client. And she was paranoid that I was going to scam her or something. Even though my reputation speaks for itself.

I don't know how much time exactly. But she ended up wasting a ton of my time when I had to walk her through some stuff through text (god damn millennials with their texting, email with a real keyboard is much faster. I don't do phone calls because I don't like to drop everything for one client. Even on speakerphone, I can't concentrate when I'm doing other work). She had a lot of questions and required a lot of hand holding. She was a ditzy idiot. Only for her to go to one of my competitors to do the job. Which means that I didn't get paid a dime in commission. She didn't even have the decency to ask me to price match or knock my percentage down.

And now she's asking me about industry insider shit and I told her off politely. I really wanted to call her an estrogen-based parasite.

She had this sob story of how both her parents had died and she is alone in her house and really needs money, etc etc. And she was flirting with me beforehand. We live near each other but haven't met. She had the audacity to ask me for a job. I told her that my comfort zone is being a 1 man operation. I'm not looking to hire staff at this moment and probably never will. There is no way I'm going to hire some ditzy woman to be my secretary. Only for her to make the moves on me and cry sexual harassment or something.

The next day I had a male client, a regular, who was all-business. Didn't have any questions. Made $280 in commission.
