Holding doors open, please and thank you, waiting for everyone to be seated before eating, that kind of thing. One dinner, the kids were sat around the table, wife in kitchen dishing up food, and I was ferrying the plates to the table. We waited for her to sit down before we started. >Her: Why do you always wait? >Me: Because I have my manners. It’s the polite thing to do. >Her: It’s old fashioned. We live in the 21st century not the 17th. God, you can be so annoying at times. No more of this crap. For the next 2 weeks, I never said please or thank you, never held doors open for her (I did for others) and just took my food and ate it instead of waiting.
