Because there is such cognitive dissonance watching a dominant, heroic, female warrior. Women do not naturally aspire to that archetype.

You just know that she would really be taken by the first or at least second trained male she fights, and my mind cannot get properly invested in such a farce.

Because women have never once done any of those things in real life. Not only is it pure fantasy and fiction, it's a bald face lie that ignores the laws of physics and even all reality.

And on top of that, the female Ghostbusters wasn't even an original idea. You just took something a man made and just switched the genders around.

male audiences will watch countless installments of a franchise as long as it's about men doing man things but the second a character like rey or furiosa or god forbid four entire female ghostbusters steps up and takes a position of prominence it's "pandering sjw bullshit".

People hated god awful soulless cash grab cgi Hollywood reboots for years. Look at the reaction to the star wars prequels or Indiana Jones 4 or the hobbit or jaws 3/4, the thing, oldboy etc etc.

Rather than make better movies they watered down scripts to make characters so generic they could cast literally anyone in the role and then manufactured controversy to trick people into watching and defending mediocre recycled movies out of spite.

If it was Megan Fox swinging from CGI vines instead of Shia LeBeouf I guarantee people would be defending that movie today.

Buffy and Dark Angel didnt have any problems getting an audience.

And pandering to SJW bullshit is death to any series, even with a man or a hot chick being the main characters. The Arrow is a case in point. I think Willa Holland (i.e. Green Arrow's sister in the show, also Red Arrow) is hot and the show was pretty ok until season 5...after the gun control episode I stopped watching and decided not to watch Flash anymore either or any more DC shows or any more TV and cancelled Netflix.

Generally, Hollywood needs new stories.

They should go around college campuses, give cinema students $1k in pizza money for random scripts, and start the hell over. Or spend about the same to buy the rights of NaNoWriMo plots. At this point, any new fresh content would be welcome, and i’d take a thriving B-movie culture like the 70’s over the stagnation we see today.

Regarding female superhero movies, they’d probably be more authentic if the female acted more like a woman rather than a damn Spice Girl on steroids.

Ive always been a huge fan of Tomb Raider but I don't watch a lot of movies however I have seen every Tomb Raider movie.

I'm mostly a fan of video games and there are plenty with female protagonists that I love. The Metroid Series, Beyond Two Souls, I preferred the female voice actor in mass effect so I'd always play as a female! Bayonetta, the Dead or Alive series has tons of female characters. I wasn't that big of a fan of Life is Strange but that's not because of the main protagonist, I can give you a book of problems with that game imo but the protagonist being a girl isn't even fucking on there.

I actually enjoyed the Supergirl series. Mostly used it as background while playing video games (as I do with most shows) but still. Also I'd probably have watched Agent Carter if I had time. The shows are a bit cheesy and weird but, it's something to watch I guess, whenever I get into one of those "let's watch a 45 minute show" moods.

I saw Thor last night and while I know the black female character Valkyrie was an SJW pandering move it didn’t feel forced. She wasn’t the lead and she seemed immature. She also didn’t hold back on the sexual tension.

Men relate to men, not women.

I can connect with a male protagonist more for I can relate with his thoughts, feelings, goals far better then that of a women protagonist.

Women experience life differently, suffer differently, expect and want different things. I will never understand there pov and will never relate as well as I would with a male protagonist.

We need to force women to read heterosexual romance from the pov of a man. They might understand how dumb this is then.
