I watched ESOTSM last night. Yes, I used a abbreviation of the film's title because it would be a truly tragic loss of my time and energy ti write out the full name of that disgusting piece of utter garbage.

I wasn't expecting a strong male character to begin with. I knew since I saw the posters that Joel would be a beta male cuck in search for a girl to complete him. But fuck me did I bite of more than I could fucking chew. Within the first few minutes of the film I was reaching for a vomit bag when I saw how desperate Joel actually was, falling in love with any woman who makes eye-contact with him, complete lack of confidence, thinking about getting back with his ex (this was the point I had nearly lost it). I paused the movie and thought about it for a while and again was reminded of how most men are in today's society: manipulated, needy, lonely, and weak. It was just sad, it really was.

Then comes the character of Clementine. She's a free-spirited, hair-coloring, super-strong woman. Except for the fact that these types of women are mostly drug-addicts, have no goals in life, and do nothing but seek stimulation after stimulation. It was so disgusting that she was shown to be someone "special" and "rebilious", but in reality women like her are nothing but idiots with no self-discipline who jsut cry over childhood issues (dad being absent, having sex with men and not being made their princesses) and then say "I don't need anyone to care for me." and then in the next second says "Hey! Don't you ignore me! I'm special and sad and I need comforting". They just spend their lives partying, looking for instant gratifications and being nothing but animals. It's infuriating, truly, sir.

This film reaffirms society's delusions about how you need a "special someone" to be happy. But the truth is, no one is special, everyone is a slow-rotting sack of meat and bone and our happiness is in no person's hands but ours.
