New to the sub, new to reddit.
I see a lot of talk about status on this sub and on various other places in the manosphere. As far as I can tell, status is very closely tied to financial stability. But what about actual authority over someone?
In conventional, private sector jobs, there are definite "ranks", but they manifest themselves in ideas like seniority and pay. In jobs like the military, the police force, and fire fighting, there are more obviously laid out and strictly adhered to ranks. So the question is, would being a captain in the military, although the pay pales to other jobs, be a strong indicator of status? Does the power to command others equal the power of the wallet (in terms of attraction)?
Not sure if I'm being totally clear in my question, but I'll stick around to clarify.
