So.... I know some of you have been following the allegations that have been going on in the Silver City. I'm sitting here on Saturday night about to flip on the latest Tom Cruise bulls*** and it got me thinking. Of the producers, directors and actors that have been accused of harassment or assault -- generally by white women who need some attention -- were any of them involved with Scientology?

I guess this is also a bigger question about the role of media sources and gender roles. Earlier today I was reading a feminist website, which, I don't know why I do this to myself, makes me generally unhappy after I go on there. Anyway, there were some spooky stories on there which were at minimum 50% stories of women being afraid of a creep / rapist / male criminal type thing. There were a few that had me weirded out, but that's not the point. What is the female fear of rapists and creeps? Where does it come from? Why does it NOW get so much attention?
