I imagine a tons of boy scouts scandals coming up in the next couple years about female scout leaders sucking off little boys in the woods and male scout leaders fingering little girls.

Of course most of this will be bullshit but then they're going to blame the patriarchy for their misogynistic organizations like the boy scouts teaching rape culture.

Obviously the Girl Scouts are unhappy about this, because the BSA carries quite a bit more clout than "feminism and guerilla marketing"...most countries do not have Girl Scouts and their Scouts are based on the BSA (Baden-Powell/Boyce models).

Expect a bit of a turf war, since Cubbies is much more fun than Brownies, and the idea of doing High-Adventure in the wilderness is much more exciting than selling cookies and helping old folks across the street.

Well I'm not really shocked I guess. I think the biggest problem the BSA is going to have is to find women who will run these "girl only" dens they'll be setting up. I don't see a lot of guys wanting to (even jr scoutmasters) just because of the inherent risks of "sexual misconduct" claims a young girl and their parents could throw on a man.

I do find it a bit amusing the GSA have their panties in a wad over this though too. I guess selling over-priced cookies and not having enough camping trips like the boys do isn't appealing enough to the tomboys out there.

Another thing that pisses me off about the scout organizations. Girl Scout groups, at least the ones in my area, banned dads and brothers from going on trips with the girls (daughters and sisters). But the Boy Scout groups that I'm familiar with allow sisters and moms on the camping trips.

It seems to me that which ever way they decide should be the same for both groups.
