I am reading Oathbringer right now, and I suddenly realized that Sylphrena, Kaladin’s honorspren, is very similar to Joi, Agent K’s hologram girlfriend, in Blade Runner 2049. Neither of them can be touched physically (at least in the Physical Realm, in Syl’s case). Although they’re both adorable and charming, they have different personalities: Joi is designed to provide love and companionship, so she’s fiercely loyal and really sweet; Sylphrena, on the other hand, is more frivolous and playful, having a penchant for teasing Kaladin verbally, which is pretty cute, too. Anyway, my point is that both of them would make excellent girlfriends/wives. They provide love, care, laughter, companionship, and they treat their partners with respect. That’s really all a man asks for in a woman. I mean, sex is good, but sex can only take you so far. If you want a life-long relationship, you need much more than just sex. Oh, trust me.

So, if I ever have the chance to bond a cute spren, I’ll do it. If Joi ever gets invented and for sale, I’ll buy her.
