I actually like the guy. He certainly is TradCon, however, he's very bright and (most) of his logic is sound. The thing about optimizing productivity for the benefit of society is this: right now, as we sit here behind our keyboards, we are benefiting from optimization and the work of other men. Now, the fact the we now have the option to not optimize ourselves for the betterment of society is, in and of itself, a direct benefit of others optimizing and contributing to society. That's his point. He sees the disaster unfolding and trying to prevent it. The problem is that he can't. The pyroclastic flow from the super volcano known as men fighting back is already reaching the outskirts of Pompeii.
