TLDR: The matrix traps us in patterns. To break free of the matrix we must be able to approach attractive women and ask for a date with them.

Pickup isn't supposed to happen. In the matrix, we are designated roles. We are given an assigned identity, taught to only interact with our assigned friends, and live our assigned life.

Pickup breaks this mold. Pickup allows us to enter new realities, and form our own identity through unique experiences.

We aren't supposed to meet people outside of our social circles. It is taboo within the matrix. And many people who are scared or satisfied with their lives never escape the matrix. They live their lives in fear of those who do pickup and who have broken free.

Lesson learned: Do pickup if you want to form your own identity.
