It wasn’t a failure.

They made a big show of “banning” men from the event, and made a point of going topless. This is so it’s easy to accuse random men who approached of sexually harassing them and posing a danger. The focus wasn’t on the food, but on networking with likeminded women to consolidate their strength.

About thirty women turned up. The media covered the event extensively, resulting in more feminist talking points on TV. They were of course, never seriously challenged over their sexist policy, or complete lack of right to commandeer and segregate a public space.
