I’ve switched majors a few times in school, and talked to several different advisors in the two years I’ve been in school. It seems that the advice the women tend to give is “follow your passion, even if it’s risky” while the men tend to be more along the lines of “do what is most likely to make you financially successful; don’t go into fields unlikely to have a good financial return on investment”. The business guy even said that getting an art degree is basically useless unless you want to be broke. Hehe
