The big thing that I got out of the new God of War is the fact that it's made VERY clear how Atreus WANTS Kratos, as flawed as he is, to be in his life and resents it when he's not there.

Having a strong father in a young man's life is extremely important.

And though Kratos has made many mistakes over his lifetime, he has come to the point where his experiences, positive and negative, can be used to guide Atreus to be better than he was himself.

And when Atreus falters, Kratos is there to guide him back to where he can become better.

The father/son story in God of War is fucking brilliant and highlights just how important the father/child relationship truly is.

The best part, almost all the reviews of this toxic masculinity simulator are 10 out of 10. Male gamers respond to strong father-son relationships, to the exclusion of limp-wristed feewings specialists like feminist gaming journalists who can't throw a ball, much less a frosty boom-a-rang axe.

What is this crap, toxic masculinity? Where? As a fan of the older games I'm actually turned off that there's zero "toxic masculinity" in the new game.

the lack of nudity in the new god of war game disappointed me. seriously... the game world feels... empty, like, do other people even live there? why couldn't I visit a town brothel or something for some 4K next gen good old days of kratos pwning some poon...

they deliberately toned down the gratuitous nudity in the new god of war... sigh...

still enjoyed the game tho, goty but cmon I loved the other god of war games for the R rated awesomeness too

Ironic because the goddess war is Athena. Ares is the god of soldiers. Athena is the goddess of strategy and generals.
