I was talking to my dad on the phone today. We got to talking about my landlord, who's this 41 year old guy who never got married and wants to get married now.

My dad is 47. He has a happy, uneventful marriage with my mom, who is pretty much everything anyone could hope for in a good, traditional wife. No conflict, stress or legal issues of any sort.

But the conversation with him went something like this.

Me: "So this guy is 41 and he says he wants to get married now. I'm like, you made it dude. Why would you want to get married now?"

Dad: laughs "Yeah. He dodged a bullet there. Why start looking for a partner at 41?"
