I am 25 years old, originally from Pakistan. I only point this out because culturally, it is unheard of for anyone to go through life without the institution of marriage. Growing up, I was brought up in a very sheltered environment with strict educational expectations; this resulted in low self-esteem and confidence up until three years ago. Long story short, during my last two years in college, I felt as if I had missed out on ‘college days’. I never made any friends, went on a date or had a fling. However, I buried these thoughts and continued on with my education keeping my long term goal in near sight. After I graduated, I landed a job, making 80k and that’s when I leaped into online dating. I went on two dates with one girl, and I genuinely thought and to some extent still do to this day that I loved her. However, after only two months, she dumped me; having promised me a life full of love, friendship, and symbiotic growth. This made me realize that, I had raised her higher than myself and I was chasing and dedicating time to women without seeing any results, perhaps they were seeking validation. Fast forward to now, a year later, I don’t want to ever get married or get into another relationship, I have heard it first hand from a motherly co-worker that: “women after a certain age will chase you because they want someone who’s settled and mature.” So, basically, men like me are a resort after these women have slept with several men just so I can provide for them after having worked my ass off since HS to get to where I am? NO THANKS! My only wife will be a GT-R and my only friends will be my parents.
