It boggles the mind that so many men out there are desperate for companionship and societal validation that they willingly get on their knees to offer a "former" slut an expensive ring with an objectively worthless stone crowning it, and then ask the woman if they'll allow them to be their slave until death frees the man. Why do women treasure marriage but not the actual job of being a wife? Because once the man proposes and she accepts, all of her former mistakes, her slutdom and her insufferable personality traits are forgiven and now she gets to cruise through life without having to worry about financial security. The state got her back, society got her back. It's the man who's now facing a lifetime of cuckery, nagging, frustration and unnecessary spending to keep her more or less happy.

Even living with a woman is enough. In most countries a defacto relationship carries with it the same rights & obligations as a marriage when it all goes south. I read last year about a Canadian doctor who paid a few student loan repayments for a girl he was dating for a few months. They weren't even living together. But when they split up she took him to court & got half his net worth. The court said he was supporting her! Now even refusing to spend money on them can now be construed as 'cohesive control' that carries jail time. You can't win. So don't play. Just go your own way & be happy.
