It's not about the US vs Russia, it's about Israel vs Iran.

The US and Saudi Arabia are on Israels side, Russia will be dragged into this because they support Syria. Iran has some bases in Syria that will likely be 'attacked by Israel' within the next couple of days/weeks. (Israel has a history of defending itself, but the media will make it look like they're the agressor.)

I expect something before or on the 14th of May when the embassy of the USA will be officially open in Jerusalem. Trump is going to be there as well.

As Trump stated as well: It's all about Israel.
