A common refrain you'll hear from women when you point out that they claim to want equality but still expect men to pay for date is this: "It is more expensive for us to look good -- the costly makeup, getting our hair and nails done, etc. If you want us to look good for you it is only fair that you pay for the date."

Here's the rub -- when you spend money on a girl, those resources go directly to her benefit. She is wined, dined, and entertained. However, the money she spends on cosmetics and clothes, while giving you the marginal benefit of having a more attractive date, still mostly benefits her by raising her status (and helping her to attract other mates while you're squiring her about on a date).

Stop paying for dates, if you're naive enough to continue dating at all. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, gentlemen.
