The confusing thing to people is that, yes, bizarre unscientific diets do actually (seem to) 'work' sometimes. I lost a lot of weight eating vegan food, but it is 99+% likely that the dominant weight loss reasons were calorie restriction, intermittent fasting, and not eating 5000 calories a day of completely inappropriate junk food. A dumb shit would leap to the conclusion of 'It must have been the vegan diet!!' Yeah, no.

Nowadays I'm following the suggestions of people on this sub by gradually starting on a keto diet (plus the calorie restriction and intermittent fasting, because there seems to be science to support both). A lot of keto food tastes great, it hardly even seems like 'diet food.' Killing my carb addiction seems a good idea to help prevent diabetes/etc.

No matter how stupid I've been in the past trying out random unscientific 'health' ideas, I never in my stupidest days would have thought 'oh, maybe I should inflict some of this bullshit on a helpless infant.' These women have leveled up several dozen times on the 'stupid' and 'unethical' achievement badges.
