Intro

In this post I mostly explore Blue Pill slavery on the individual level, as it manifests in the every-day life of your typical Nice Guy.

1. Competition Avoidance

Nice Guys want to avoid conflict, and therefore look upon competition as Sinful ("everyone deserves a trophy" etc.) For example, the Nice Guy wants to date an attractive girl. He believes that it's just a matter of time until he meets that perfect someone. However, he forgets that there are a limited number of hot women, and that every guy wants them. When the Nice Guy inevitably fails, he thinks: "I'm so unlucky! I'll never meet the right woman." Instead, he should realize: "I am getting out-competed and losing. I need to up my Game."

Another example: Nice Guys take the West's material abundance and relative security for granted, believing this state of affairs is "normal" and not subject to change. This apolitical and ahistorical attitude denies any connection between the West's affluence and its status as a military superpower and global hegemon. To be clear: I don't support the West's imperial misadventures, but this is a good example of how Nice Guys think resources just magically appear.

To emphasize equality when the Game is highly competitive, and to claim resource abundance when there's actually a limited supply is goofy. The Nice Guy's worldview isn't in line with reality and he therefore cannot function at optimum capacity or even live in the moment.

2. Frame Interference

By definition, the beta-slave does not embrace the attitude of the Owner or Master. If asked, he labels these roles "douchey" and "unfair," even though he secretly craves the prestige they carry.

The beta-slave actually cannot maintain a strong frame (no matter how much PUA he reads), because he is not free.

-He depends on his peers for acceptance, social proof, and self-esteem

-On school (or work) for his livelihood, identity, and sense of purpose

-On his parents for financial support and/or his girlfriend for affirmations of his worth

The beta's dependence means that others can one-up his frame (i.e. "Alpha up" on him.) His girlfriend may act reprehensibly, but he has no other prospects, so he quietly accepts it. He may rant about the shortcomings of his watered down education, but ultimately needs the degree to get a job, so he can't actually do anything about it.

The beta's insistence on equality ironically ensures that he will never be treated as an equal. He will continually find himself dependent, and forced to play the role of provider. This state of affairs leads to cognitive dissonance like Morpheus' "splinter in your mind, driving you mad."

3. Embracing Herd-Values

Persistently insecure, craving acceptance, and suspicious of any form of natural hierarchy, the beta views mass opinion as very close to "the truth."

The beta doesn't want to admit that the masses are often stupid and incorrect. He thus lowers himself to the mean in order to "fit in" and gain some measure of comfort. In the long run, this has disastrous results and leads to arrested development.

Conclusion

It's important to realize that very few people want you to 'wake up.' It's generally better for those around you if you remain a beta. Then they don't have to compete against you, and can even extract free resources from you at times. No one actually wants you to become alpha; one needs to do this oneself by embracing competition, canceling out frame interference, and disavowing Herd-values.
