Hopefully there are some Westworld fans here.

Remember at the end of Season 1, Maeve is in the elevator considering going back into the park for her daughter?

Then, she realizes her daughter is a mind trick? An illusion to control her -- a tool to keep her close to the park, and to get her to keep identifying with the narrative that Dr. Ford created?

Men in the 21st century actually have a "daughter" of our own. It is the false affection and emotional comfort that women temporarily give men to control them and reel them in -- simply a bait to trick men into associating POSITIVE feelings with that female. It's a power ploy to trap you into giving them loyalty, and gaining access to your resources (social, financial, emotional, psychological, time-based).

You'll feel an emotional pull at first, if the woman is good-looking or charming enough.

But remember that they MEANT to evoke this exact feeling. Weaker men will respond with devotion and gratitude, until the point where the women eventually traps you into a relationship where she's making demands and asserting dominance all the time. Example: "Honey, go get me another glass of wine" or even more extreme "Honey, if you don't do what I ask, I will take the kids and leave your sorry ass!"

We can all think of our own examples, I'm sure.

But the point is, smart men will realize this initial "butterflies in the stomach" feeling is just like Maeve's so-called "daughter" in Westworld. It's fake, it's cheap, and it's manipulative. The sooner we can all resist this "emotional tug", the sooner we can chase things in our life that we TRULY love and that TRULY make us happy.
