Friend is on VA disability his soon-to-be ex-wife is trying to take all of it, any help for him?

the way it generally works, is no, they cannot touch the actual account payout from the disability..

however, they will tack on additional alimony/child support monies against the amount of disability..

if disability is the only money he receives, once he receives the actual monies, he then will be in arrears to pay against the amount received.. so he then pays his received disability as support..

no matter what they've got all angles covered to take money from men..

..also, that supreme court ruling states, the disability cannot be considered/offset in regards for support amounts, which is good..
