Gambling is bad enough, but online gambling is horrendous. The reason being is because it is completely and totally fixed and manipulated.

Not that regular slot machines aren’t, but they’re regulated by state gaming boards, and they have to eventually pay out with jackpots. Online casinos are the Wild West.

They aren’t regulated by anything, and they’re harbored in off-shore safe havens, where they’re completely free from laws and regulations.

I remember when all those online poker sites got exposed for cheating, some years back. You’ve got to try and wean yourself off.

Try video games, or something similar that will still stimulate your brain, but in a more productive way, to where you aren’t losing money like crazy.

Also, look into some natural supplements that help curb the addictive part of the brain.

View gambling like a woman. The more money you put into it, the more you will lose.

Online gambling has taken the same approach that women do. They use loss leaders (the bonus rounds and deposits) and for women its sex to get you in the door. But what you find it utter misery when you keep placing more and more money into their pockets whilst they don't return to you anything.

I believe that online gambling especially the slots are an utter scam. In the UK the gambling companies own the gambling anonymous too. So forge your own path and quit cold turkey.

Something you guys should be aware of.

A friend of mine worked for an online casino for a few months. Online casino's will shut down your account if you are winning too much.. They will take any kind of excuse they can to not pay you the money you have won.. If you gamble, don't do it online..

Some people have a predisposition to gambling.
I can relate. Whenever I do something exciting I always eat junk food. For me, it's a triggered behavior.. Such as this is an awesome movie, it'd be even better with an awesome pizza. Or this is an awesome game, it'd be even better with some cookies and milk. That's some exciting news, let me think about it while I pace around the room eating potato chips, etc.

The key is to identify the triggers and remove yourself from engaging in those behaviors when the triggers happen. For me, it was as simple as just not keeping food around the house. Can't eat things that don't exist. By the time Possibly something as simple as not having your wallet nearby when you're on the Internet might help. Maybe cutting up your credit cards and learning to use cash might help. I know a lot of people that use cash to avoid the temptations of using credit and it's a lot harder to spend $1000 in cash than it is to put $1000 on credit.
