I have heard similar one-liners from other men and they have never thought about this: changing a negative pattern that is deep rooted in the core will take allot of discipline and time to destroy that one. And we all know women are not very good when it comes to discipline (men too, but I see more women struggling with this).

My dad was a crazy narcissist raised by women (where he got it). If you parked your car wrong the police would almost have to be called if he didn't get his way. One day he called and I told him I had been to see a therapist about my childhood and our rocky relationship (it was a lie). I told him the therapist said I should stop talking to him for one year. I found out later that a therapist would actually give that advice to a client! Anyway my father never wanted to talk to me again after that. The first tinge of MGTOW hit me unexpectedly years ago. I was around 20 years old, struggling to get by on my own. I had suffered a brain injury at age 18, and didn't deal as well with everyday stresses as the average person.

I was of course shocked to have this all put on the table during what I thought was a casual lunch.

I remember looking at my sister, hating her, and thinking about what a selfish bitch she was being for dragging everyone into this sort of a shitshow at a crowded restaurant. I didn't react with anger, I didn't make a scene. I simply suffered through the rest of the weekend with a quiet rage building in me.

The truth is, my sister always hated my father for being old fashioned and conservative. I'm sure he did have an affair, but in my sisters eye's it was only confirmation that men aren't worth a shit. That she was unfairly treated, yadda, yadda, yadda. What's really ironic is that she is just like him. But not self aware enough to see it.

To this day, my sister (who is beautiful, highly educated, and makes a good 6 figure salary) treats every man she dates like dirt. And although I respect her in some ways. I've always held on to the cold anger I felt towards her that day. It took me years to realize though, that the same horribly selfish paradigm that allowed my sister to almost rip apart her own family in a instant.
