I am what you could call a lone wolf. I live alone, I work alone, I communicate verbally little or none with other humans each day. I prefer my solitude, doing things that make me happy, and being reliant on myself for most things. However this is not due to any circumstance, its just my preference. I only talk with my parents occasionally to grant solace to whatever worries they may have about my well being.

That said, I also have no real desire to have a relationship with any person. I'm not antisocial or weird by any means when the situation arises that I speak to people or otherwise interact, I'm somewhat of a social chameleon in that sense. I'll laugh and crack jokes and tell stories, but not really absorb any of their information or care about their situations, I find that very difficult. If put into the situation where I can be social, then I will do so, but I will not go after those situations. Afterwards it'll be back to normal and I'll erase their memory from my mind. I also never really pursue relationships, even fleeting ones like a one night stand. I suppose I can relate it to college; I had many friends and knew a lot of girls simply because I was forced to just by being around so many people/living/working with people close to me nearly every day. So they came to me in a sense. But now that I'm out of college and can truly live alone, I don't really care if I'm not getting laid by ignoring everybody, it doesn't particularly interest me to do so. I guess if a girl came up to me and begged for it, and it were convenient to do so, then sure.

There's just the stigma that being this way means the person is a recluse/weirdo/mentally ill/has other problems, or became this way because of some abuse or event. I'm sure there are plenty of other people this way. and I don't care to credit/discredit such a lifestyle either way; I am simply curious about others' experiences in this. So, what are your thoughts?
