I, too, cannot do an open relationship. I'd rather it be straight up FWB or a serious non-open relationship. I can't do the "in-between" setup. To me, the open relationship means you get sex at the cost of "relationship stuff" (dates, etc) but the other guy(s) she fucks get it for free.

This is where you're wrong. My marriage is open for me but not for her. She knows, approves, and sets me up with dates. Her man demonstrates high value by banging hot 20 year old= wet panties. We're both atheist.

There's no reason you can't have exactly the kind of relationship you want if you are dedicated to having it and invest yourself in becoming the man who has enough value to deserve it.

Open relationships are powder-kegs. That said, it's the only way to square the circle between a girl you love, and the fact that most men (and women) can never be truly happy fucking only one person forever.

I have an open relationship with my girlfriend, and it works very well for us because we are of the same mind. We're both pretty slutty, but much in love. Our relationship is default "closed" but we agree to go on short term breaks from monogamy a few times a year for short stretches. Every such relationship must have rules, and these are ours:

-Two Month time limit: No being friends with exes, no long term shit. We circle a date on the calendar and by that day we must have both dumped anything we have on the side. We always shut it down early cause we're sick of our GIFs (our acronym for Girl/Guy I Fuck).

-Keep the numbers classy: We keep the numbers of people we fuck on the outside low and about even. One or two per break at most.

-Limited Contact: No being a dick and spending all night in front of each other. Limited "date nights" that we agree on in advance, so we can both be out at the same time as much as possible.

-No Dudes in My House: I own the damn place, so she doesn't bring anyone back here. I bang girls at my house, though.

-Limited Details: GIFs don't have names. They don't have details. The only time we share such info is when we're making fun of them.

-Safe sex (obviously).

This wouldn't work for most people, but it works for us. Is it hard to get over the idea of other guys fucking your girlfriend? Hell yes, it is. It helps when you're balls deep in another girl at the same time. It'll be hard for her to get over you fucking other girls too. In the end the trade off is worth it to me.

This wouldn't work for most people, but it works for us. The key is to have your "rules" ahead of time and make sure everyone knows to make each other a priority. You should both be looking for a fling, or a mini-relationship with someone else that you can have some fun with and then throw away like trash after. If it's a race to fuck as many people as possible things will fail, because the woman will always win this race by a long shot.

After every break we go on me and my girl love each other all the more, because it reminds us how shitty everyone else is in comparison.

Forget about "relationships" entirely. Just spin plates till the day you die. Avoid all talk about relationships entirely and try not to get caught.
