I'd do the same for my dog. Except it wouldn't bite because I teach it right and do good by it. I know its nature and thus I act accordingly she wears an halti when going out. But the love for my dog will surpass any other human connection or material means. 16 years with my dog is time better spent with any solipsistic human twat.

Sorry but dogs are WAY better companions than any human being, they are loyal and a source of optimism, i do genuinely felt sorry for that poor old dog, good thing she didn't put down for revenge or something like that.
