In my view, I think women enjoy sex even more than men do, but it has to be with the right person.
I think men make the same mistake women do. Women like to project, men do the same with women in regards to sex.
We think; man and woman meet, get horny, romp in the sack, orgasm, then go to sleep.

Only men do that.
For a woman, with a guy she's maybe interested in is: met guy, maybe get horny, romp in the sack, maybe orgasm, go to sleep because the last hour was tiring.
With a guy she really likes is: meet guy she likes, take off panties because they are soaked from all of the anticipation, romp in the sack, orgasm, goes back to being horny again and wants to do it again with guy she likes or some other guy that turns her on.
Guys understand, although sex feels the same for both men and women it's different for both of us. Blessing or curse men have the refractionary period. Women don't. If you want to experience what I think what sex is like to women I will suggest "edging". It's basically coming to the point of orgasm/ejaculation and stopping. It's basically being in a state of constant horniness. You eventually cool down, but there is a constant simmering of arousal throughout until you choose to climax. I think this is the closest men can understand what women feel like before/during and after sex.
There are some guys who have learned to separate ejaculation from orgasm, essentially making themselves like women sexual.

There'd still be ecological selection (those able to survive a harsh winter would breed, etc).
I'd look at the selfish, genes-eye view of things. Slutty genes where the woman just gets knocked up by a random guy are less likely to survive than another mutation that causes women to not only be selective but also have selective daughters. Similarly, stud muffin genes where the guy is wanted by women and wants to fuck a lot will get spread. This is part of the reason why women like men that a lot of other women like. If they have a son with that man, then her stud son will spread her genes by fucking a bunch of women.

What women enjoy about sex is the drama they can use it to create, the chaos they can create in a man's life.
"Most women view it is purely physical." Many men do also, but what is surprising is that so many women do. In fact, I'd wager that women nowadays are more likely to hold this opinion that men.
