Good day gentleman and scholars. I believe, in the interest of this subreddit, I have found an under discussed tool fully capable of usurping power others in group settings.

Summary: storytelling is a powerful tool that, when used properly, can provide the upper hand in a group or individual setting.

Body: it has come to my attention through months of lurking in this subreddit that storytelling is mentioned but never discussed in detail. We do, so often enough, recant occurrences of our lives to many of the people we come in contact with on a daily basis. It's everywhere around us in marketing, Reddit posts, and general tales told by the water cooler. By following these guidelines you can turn an ordinary evening into an amazing night.

The setup

This is one of the most important issues regarding storytelling. There is so much to be said for the beginning of anything worth paying attention to.

With most stories your setup should begin with time of day, characters, and location. As most stories are scene from the imagination of the listener you want to get everybody as on the same page as possible. This helps to provide a connection not just with your listeners but between listeners as well. This will allow you full control during your story.

Vocabulary

It is of vital importance that you know your audience. As eloquent as you may be there may not be as many intelligent individuals in your audience. Be sure to stick to a vocabulary set and level that coincides with the comprehension of the entire audience not just an individual. However, Let It Be noted that a display of intellect is good in order to increase value.

Body language and timbre

For those of you are acquainted with musical terminology, Timbre is the quality of sound in regards to pitch and intensity. This is important as any person reading a story to a child will tell you in order to provide as much depth as possible regarding the story. Your main goal should be to provide an emotional rollercoaster utilizing both vocals and body language. Your body language should be extreme in that you are making grand gestures e.g. slamming fists on tables during intense moments and whispering before and after climax.

Body

This one is simple be as detailed as possible while keeping the story between 3 and 5 minutes long.

Conclusion

This is one of the most important pieces to any good story. You want a slow decline with a conclusion that helps to break frame of everyone in the audience. Similar to telling the punchline of a joke you want your audience to be in an emotional agreement by the time you have finished with your story.

The results

There are several ways to tell if you have received the intended results from your story. My favorite being body language. If your audience is mimicking and your body language then you have achieved total control of group dynamics in this situation. If they lean when you lean act surprised when you are surprised and seemed relaxed at the end of your tale then all occurred as intended.

Utilization

If you ever recall watching a movie you will see that every movie includes the same aspects that I just described. After watching a well-written film you may find yourself at the end feeling slightly different physically and mentally. This is due 2 hour imaginations seeping into our reality. It is at this time that our minds are almost as susceptible to persuasion as during the story itself. Utilize this time to practice other trp strategies in order to build smv and close.

I hope this helps you in your endeavors. May they all be ever fruitful.
