Marriage WAS NEVER "muh patriarchal oppression." It was always beneficial FOR THE WOMAN. Men could just fornicate and leave the woman pregnant to take care of the child herself, which would have been bad for her and the child. To prevent this, men were supposed to marry in order to have sex with the women they wanted. Marriage was never intended to be what it is today. Whenever I talk about marriage, I do not mean the bastardized Christian view of monogamy and "till death do us part." Add in government bias and voila, we have the shit show of today. That is why I advise to never get the government/Christian version of marriage and stay out of jurisdictions that can steal your money if you live with a woman and leave her.
