I am in my mid-30s, and (especially after reading "No More Mr. Nice Guy") as I get older I've taken a much more active interest in helping younger men navigate through life. In turn, I often have men in their 50s offering me bits of advice here and there, for which I am always grateful, especially since I was raised BT a single mom.

By contrast, I was listening to a bit of standup by Ali Wong (who I think is actually quite funny, unlike the Schumers of the world). In some ways I think Wong is to women what Patrice O'Neal is for men, and her standup is often very revealing as far as how many women think.

One of her bits centered around hating younger, more attractive women. I've heard this sentiment expressed several times; in spite of the so-called Sisterhood, older women seem more likely to disparage younger women and not help them.

Anyone else noticed this?

TL;DR: Are older men more respectful of their younger colleagues than women are of theirs?
