Up until today I had never heard of MGTOW or the concept of Zeta males. I ran across a comment making reference to it in a new article, read up more, and came here... and really I feel like for the first time I am not alone... Its pretty mind blowing to find people that share my point of view.

Quick background on me: I specced pick up artist in college, and after finding some level of "success" with women, gaining some self confidence and disillusionment in gender relations... I started "going monk," though I was unaware of the term I actually used to joke about my celibacy with friends saying that I was a monk because it was the easiest way to make them understand. I have been a monk for 7 years now, and it hasn't always been easy. I'm not opposed to the idea of a relationship... its just the pull hasn't been able to outweigh my flight response.

MGTOW related story: Way back before I started going monk, I was taking a women's issues class, and I asked the professor a related question about men's issues, and in front of the whole auditorium she asked me "What men's issues?" As if there are no societal issues that disproportional effect men. It was humiliating to be put on the spot like that by someone who is supposed to have been studying gender relations for a good portion of their life.

Political views: I want to first state that I am and have always been 100% for human equality. Gender/race/sexuality I don't care people deserve the same rights and protections. With that being said, I feel like Feminist and LGBT sold me on this idea of equality, but only look out for themselves. I've been openly attacked on messaging forms for suggesting men should deserve equal treatment. Had things I've said be understood to mean the complete opposite of my message based on my gender alone. I've been excluded from groups who claim to want equality just because I want it too. I don't believe there is any kind of gender equality right now, but I don't see one side having it much better than the other. But we should be moving toward equality on both sides.

I don't hate anyone.

I hope none of this was Humble Bragging. I was really just trying to share something of how I relate.

TL;DR I'm happy to find a bunch of people who can see what I see.
