I am a lurker. Made this account simply to say: it’s true. If the person calling the cops on you knows you own guns, you will be swatted by 10+ cops when they come. It happened to my fucking dad and he was almost killed in the middle of the night in his boxers by a swarm of 15 fucking cops because my grandma called the cops on him for something she made up trying to get my dad in trouble.

Never take photos of your firearms or ammo etc. it triggers anti-gun activists to see you plus it makes it easier to know what kind of weapons you own.

My father owns a pair of Bushmasters, and in the current political climate what with Trump's great betrayal, I'm planning to convince him to sell the lowers to a dealer(ditching the paper trail) and buying new ones at gun shows, then if a ban rolls around, we'll just bury them in the woods and show the gestapo the papers saying we sold them. I'll be doing the same with my SKS just in case. I suggest any folks here do the same with their AR lowers, as it's a pretty nifty loophole.

At least NZ SWAT will call the accused out with a loudspeaker and give him a chance to come out with his hands out. In America I get the impression SWAT teams normal tactic is to bust through the front door in the middle of the night, and if in the confusion you make a wrong move you are dead.
