I heard about the hemline index years ago, but it was only over the weekend when I heard it mentioned again did it seem to click with female hypergamy.

The gist of it is, that as the economy improves skirt lengths get shorter, then after an economic crash they get longer again. See : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemline_index

I've heard some say it is because women couldn't afford stockings during bad times, so bought longer skirts. But to me, it just seems that as money becomes more abundant, women become more promiscuous.

They make it clear they are available for monkey branching when there are more men around making good money. Then when times get tough, they stop showing themselves as available and cling on to what male resources they currently have.

Maybe, it's just coincidence and all bullshit, but it's interesting nonetheless.
