Two take aways from this:

If you believe a person should be punished for cheating refer to the old saying, before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.
Relationships are exactly what he says, they must be tended to like a garden. Neglect it and it will all wither away.

I like some of his concepts and insights. I liked his idea about if somebody denies you something whether it's through their death, their cheating or their leaving you are still denied no matter what. But all of this comes to a conclusion that I don't agree with. He ultimately concludes that you have a problem with being denied because your life isn't complete without someone else so figure out how to be complete on your own and then you will find that relationships are more about sharing than they are about extracting. That's all fine and dandy on paper but many people derive meaning out of companionship, meaningful communication and emotional and physical intimacy from someone else. Pretending you can get these things on your own is not realistic for most people and the way you get it out of a spouse is completely different than you would from someone of your same sex or someone in your family / friends group.
