I'll watch the vid but TFM also had a point about that. Remember who's coming back in Revelations to smite everyone who didn't believe in his name. So if one believes the entire Trinity, he knew what he was purchasing, a pass for his people.

But his figure as opposed to a warlord I think did rhetorically help quell to some degree religious driven bloodshed in the west as renaissance and sci revolution came about, the hypocrisy of cruelty in God's name isn't just in a commandment it's there in the very figure a wouldbe fundamentalist claims to fight for.
