Well, the problem is that in cities, Childcare can often be $400-800 a WEEK. So, the SAHM must work SOLELY to pay for Childcare...which is stupid and pointless. Kids can socialize at 5 when they enter Elementary School, they don't need to be brainwashed by Tranny-loving teachers for three years first...unless you WANT that for you child...

Many women CANNOT be SAHM because they believe that they HAVE to send their urchins off to preschool to give them a "leg up" on the corporate/billionaire/celebrity world.

There are a couple things that doesn't take into account.

Infant care costs. You are saying average child care cost. Infant care is more expensive because you have a higher teacher to student ratios.
1. Quality of care available. The USA has a higher infant mortality rate and one reason found is affordable child care places often (not always) have dangerous practices in place.
2. Employers often will fire you for being unrelaible for taking time off when your child is sick. Babies especially get sick quite frequently especially if they are in child care.
3. There are other costs associated with working. For instance- more gas for your commute, wardrobe, food (you can save a ton by meal prepping), formula (most women either don't have a place or time to pump despite laws)
4. SAHPS often provide other support at home. I manage the bills, shopping, meal planning, doctor's appointments, cleaning, laundry, sick kids, child development.
