I think this illustrates an important injustice in the modern social contract. Before the modern government, men and women voluntarily traded with eachother. A woman traded her reproductive ability, sexual capital and a cultivated pleasant personality in exchange for the man's promise to provide, protect and assume responsibilty for her. Both parties had to provide something.

But now, only half of this contract exists: the men's obligations side. Men pay for women, and women don't have to do anything in return. This is the modern social contract.

Just to clarify I believe this study's scope is only for New Zealand would love to see one for the U.S.

its true, i have a business that made a killing a few years ago, living in canada really fucked me good, i ended up having to pay over 50% tax on a personal level and over 25% on a corporate level, so on the few hundred thousand i made those years, i basically ended up forking over almost 70% to fucking taxes.

Oh well, jokes on the government, I've scaled down my business to the point where I make enough to survive, i have 0 incentive to go out and make 500k-1mln a year again especially when i'll be nailed to the fucking wall by 5+ different bullshit taxes and end up only taking home a pathetic % of the amount i made

in the USA it's a lot better, but if you run a business in canada, keep lube stocked because CRA will throw every tax they can at your income so they can weasel away more of it

yeah you can pay yourself dividends but even then if you want to take home a healthy income they fuck you here too

and then they wonder why the country is in the piss hole. then the kicker is this bullshit Canadian government wastes money on "moving expenses" for their employees, CRA just got busted paying some dude 450k to move 13KM closer to CRA offices, it's a fucking joke.

im just waiting for the collapse now, the government is pissing money into poor peoples hands so they can buy these over priced houses and new cars,

i love the war on "rich" people though, people forget some of us business owners aren't making walmart money, they just assume everyone who runs a business is making 1 billion bucks a day. 90% of businesses can barely afford to keep the lights on and then people whine "TAX THEM MOREEEEEEEEE" ...fucking morons i laugh, people seriously think walmart or costco can't afford an extra 10mill a year in taxes? theyre fucking retards, all walmart and these big ass corporations do is hire some big 4 accounting firm and find a way to scam the government
