Here's the problem. The friend zone means that you want to fuck her but can't do it. Of course you're not equal friends. Don't care about the money part, but can you call someone a friend if they don't give you attention, or listen to you when you send them a message? Not even saying doting attention, but let's say I post here and no one replies. Wouldn't it only make sense you'll be invisible?

You're missing a key piece of the equation though: this prison is one of the beta's own making. The only thing keeping him there is his own naivety.
