I don’t want to return to that model of civilization but, nowadays with the false rape epidemic and other issues, I’m wondering if those generations had real reasons to impose these cultural norms on women.

  • Islamic law demanding male witnesses to corroborate female claims.

  • women not allowed to live with men they’re not married/related to.

  • women not working after getting married (single income families preventing prices from skyrocketing).

Does anything else come to mind?
