OK TL/DR. Home ownership is a bad idea. This can be true in many ways. Buy low, sell high is the cardinal rule.

However, many of us USA'ers, hell, Westerners, bought before the bubble burst. Upside down city. Short sales, foreclosures, can't pay the debt. You know the drill.

Sole, loner types. The quiet tinkerers. Choose wisely. Soon, your mortgage is cut in half. ~!there's your tenant.

My solution? Vet, and find a roommate. No women. Just guys.

Vet. Do not advertise. Approach. Selective. Maybe this guy.... Get where I'm going?

Then, with the rent, improve your dog house. Don't spend it, make it more valuable. Then you are ready to possibly sell. Good luck out there with rent by the way.

Renting has screwed all of us since the 2008 housing mortgage flop. But we MGTOW homeowners can profit. CAREFUL! Vet your tenant.

That is the real message here.

What about buying a home for the full cash value right then and there? No mortgage to pay. Isn't this the best choice?

Buy smart. Location, location, location. Sounds redundant, but true.

All you money? No way. 20 percent max down. Can you potentially rent it? I.E. not living there or with a vetted roommate, no way. Man, the market is screwy right now. House sales are higher, but not quite above the bubble that beat us down. Two years from now better and more stable. Better to guess then. Alternatively, look into foreclosure and short sales. Always better to beat the bank, and take advantage of a harsh situation. Usually, it's not the house or property, but the shitty situation people find themselves in. Make sense? Good luck!
