MGTOW isn't about avoiding your mother. If she was a good mother to you and you feel a duty to take care of her, then by all means. That's a noble thing, just take care of yourself first. That puts you in a better position to selectively care about the ones important to you. Avoid marriage and continue to invest in yourself and you'll be fine.

There is nothing wrong with loving your mother. Realize that some people on here have had shit parents and a house that was a revolving door of step-dudes.

To me, looking at my parent's relationship (they are still together) is one of the biggest reasons I don't want to date. There have been times in their relationship where either or both of them could have left and it would have been justified. But they stuck it out, worked it out, and now they are the the two most best friends I know of. There's a healthy level of shit talking that goes on in my family house; everyday is full of gut rolling laughter, and it keeps everyone on point. Starting to gain weight? You're gonna get some shit talk...then we'll work on a healthy dinner plan for the next family gathering.

The willingness to work through the bad times...I just don't see modern woman (or men for that matter) having the same motivation. It's so easy to abandon ship on a relationship when you have literally every guy you've ever met on your Facebook. The idea of "live together, die alone" is completely gone, and that was one of the big factors that kept families together and a level of respect between those people.

MGTOW is not anti-woman. It's about taking care of yourself in a world that despises you.

Its more about acknowledging the harsh truths and realities of women, relationships, feminism and a lot of things.

And yes, some of us do have loved a female at one point in our lives but that doesn't mean a real MGTOW has to have a lack of humanity towards everyone. It just means we don't want to do it because we have no good reason to be with a woman or in some MGTOWer's cases its due to bad experience with women.

Don't think you HAVE to hate your mother to be MGTOW, just understand that as she is a woman, that is the way she is and you have to let it go.

well your mother is an exception. your mother is the only women on the planet who ever really loved you. You can be mgtow and still care about your mom. mgtow is really aobut women outside of your blood line. society has changed if you could go back in time and marry and live in the 1950's you would not have to be mgtow as divorce really low then. but society has changed and times have changed and you have to adapt to survive.

Hey OP, I have a great mom too. Old school, loyal and respectful to my dad, hardworking, etc.

I naively thought a similar woman would exist in the modern world.

Anyway, there's nothing un-mgtow about being good to those who have been good to you. I am definitely taking good care of my parents when the time comes.
