What accounts for percentage of female math majors?

I do know that some teacher education programs require you to get a 4 year degree in your subject area and then do a year to learn the education/teacher specific stuff (my university did this). So some of those could be women that are becoming high school math teachers and not really pursuing STEM careers.

Combination of factors. A feminized education system sees a lot of boys drop out of high school. Math & stats (easy math) are combined. If they were separated, math % would be much lower.

My degree is in math and it was about 50/50. I think the problem starts well before college. Education system got revamped to accommodate women, at the expense of men. Women do much better in high school, partially because of biased grading which has been proven; and so regardless of men being naturally better at math it's women coming of out high school with better grades overall and getting into college. And a lot of men in college have much high drop out rates.
