Nah, because it's also worthwhile explaining 'why' (e.g. 'every non-archived click earns them money from ads') which I didn't do because I was on lunch break at work. I'd also add that it's good to have an archival link just in case they delete the page, or alter the content, or move it to a new address, etc.
I know our subreddit archival bot 'died' a couple months ago, and I had a random musing thought about creating a new one. Lots of good content on this subreddit worth preserving, and a lot of the best content is in the text part of the posts/comments, in my opinion, and that's easy to archive, and doesn't require much disk storage, maybe one copy at archive.is, and another copy at a r/MGTOW-owned server. Dunno when/if I'll actually do this though, but maybe this'll give someone else an idea if I don't do it before them LOL.

Yep. I've started to draw local copies of youtube videos. The (google) cloud has after all proofen itself to not be the reliable/accessable data storage, it was advertised as.
After the data is gone is not the right time to start thinking about backups.

Re backups, yeah, it's important enough to back things up when you 'own' the platform yourself. When someone else owns the platform (e.g. youtube, reddit, imgur), it's that much more important to make backups, as we've all learned (but need reminders about). I still feel like I'm too busy learning the basics and 'intermediates' (nowhere near 'advanced') of the MGTOW philosophy/lifestyle (in parallel with day job etc), but once I'm past that, maybe I'll create an archiver bot, or a process on a computer somewhere that might not be an 'official reddit bot' but would accomplish what's needed. It wouldn't hurt to have multiple people making archives/backups!

you are absolutely right. I always forget because I run a pfSense box with PFBlockerNG and tons of blacklists... so network wide all ad servers fall into a DNS black hole. ontop of the usual uBlock origin and tracking prevention software/browser extension. I should probably write up a guide for all my MGTOW friends so you can selectively pick who you want to give ad revenue to, and we can contribute to the websites that deserve it. CNN is fucking cancer

we could probably also write a bot that does the archiving and just adds the generated link as a reply. Maybe such a bot already exists.
I think the mensrights sub uses snapshillbot (?), maybe that would be a good way to get the most bang for the least bug \o/

I know 🙁, I wish I could think of one.
I like to think that people will do like me and ignore it till they see the idea (I found MGTOW very interesting and the movement has helped me find motivation to get off my ass which is why I stuck around inspite of certain things like the use of plantation, I can't think of any others.)
Maybe someone smarter will come up with something, I think he most probably won't care though.

Would you prefer the metaphor of a stray sheep leaving the flock or if you want to keep it matrix themed what about the red dress scene where they are forcing their way through the tide of people
The sheep one I like, but honestly I'm think I'm thinking to much about making this seem appealing when in reality there are probably thousands of people who think like us and never heard of MGTOW.
