'The Notebook' is the ultimate example. All women say the are looking for love "like in The Notebook". And what happens in The Notebook? The female is a spoiled entitled cunt who leaves Chad behind for a wealthy beta simp. This breaks Chad, who becomes a recluse simp and builds her a dream house and writes her every day even though she never responded once. She comes back and decides that she'll accept the free house and jump back on his cock as his reward. At the end, you find out that in their old age, this guy spends the vast majority of each day trying to coax this old woman out of her dementia just so that they can share a brief moment of cognitive recognition, and then they die together.

Women love this story because it's about a man who is rejected in his prime but still offers up everything a woman would want after years of her banging someone else. Sounds like a pretty shitty deal for the guy!
